Tour
The Bavarian Forest is known for its unique nature, untouched landscapes, mountains, and rolling hills, as well as its lush green valleys. But there is also much to discover in the cultural sphere. We’d like to share a few suggestions to help you plan your leisure time and excursions. Of course, there’s far more to experience and explore — just talk to us. Our staff has plenty of (secret) tips to share!
Passau
Humboldt declared it one of the most beautiful cities in the world. And everyone who has seen this unique place with its three rivers Danube, Inn and Ilz and the picturesque alleys will agree with him. Mandatory excursion during the Bayerwald holiday.

“Pearl of the Bohemian Forest” or “Venice on the Vltava” — both sound lovely, and both are true. UNESCO has listed the old town of Český Krumlov as a World Heritage Site. This gem lies about 80 kilometers from Mauth, just waiting to be discovered.
MoreFreilicht Museum
In Finsterau, entire farms, farmhouses, a village smithy, a chapel, and of course a tavern have been brought together. All of it forms a complete village—and you can experience life as it once was.
