The history of our house on the Goldener Steig, in the heart of Mauth, dates back to 1890. It has been owned by the Fuchs family — our hosts — since 1937. Bernhard’s mother, Anita, still the heart and soul of the inn, ran the business together with her husband, Alfons, until his sudden death in 2012.

Close the doors? Or try something new — something a little bold — and pour their hearts into it? This was the decision the family faced at the time.

For the 80th anniversary in 2017, Bernhard Fuchs and his wife, Birgit, chose the latter: they took over the house as the third generation of hosts, determined to lead it into a vibrant gastronomic future.
